A popular national chicken wing joint is getting ready to open its first Upstate New York location.

Does anything beat great fried chicken wings? Especially this time of year as we enjoy our last few Sundays of football, we are soaking in all the games with our favorite wings! And now, after the arrival of Chick-Fil-A, Dave's Hot Chicken, and several new Popeye's locations, our influx of national chains specializing in chicken continues: chicken wing fans in the Albany area will soon have a new chicken wing joint to order that beloved fried favorite!

Wing Stop To Open New Albany Location

Wing Stop is flying into the Capital Region! According to a News 10 story, the national 'Wing Experts" are planning to open their first area location in Albany later this month (February 2024). Wing Stop currently operates 50 restaurants in New York, and this will be their first eatery in the Capital Region.

The new restaurant will be located in the Westgate Plaza at 911 Central Avenue. And if you love chicken, their menu is a dream featuring everything from wings in multiple flavors to chicken sandwiches, sides, and more!

Now the big question: will the chicken offerings be good enough to make our best of lists below? We will get to find out soon!

Ever since Chic-Fil-A added two more restaurants in the Capital Region, there's been a lot of "clucking" in our area about who has the "best-tasting" chicken sandwich.

We decided to post the question on our various social media platforms, and the results were pretty interesting.

For the purpose of our survey, we didn't care if it was made at a local mom-and-pop style pub, tavern, or restaurant or if it was made by a multi-billion dollar national chain.

If Capital Region residents knew of a place that builds a delicious, golden-fried chicken sandwich, we wanted to hear about it.
