Yesterday it was reported that Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette has signed with the San Antonio Spurs.

The deal is essentially just for training camp and does not include a guarantee to make the team. However, we brought in Jason Minnix of ESPN San Antonio to find out just what kind of role Jimmer can have.

First, will Jimmer even make the team? How can he fit in the San Antonio system?

As we discussed with Minnix, the Spurs have a history of turning players just like Jimmer into NBA stars, including Bruce Bowen and Danny Green.

Minnix also told us that Fredette fits exactly what the Spurs like to do: Use ball movement and find the open three.

We also asked just how many players Fredette is battling with to make the team, as well as the issue of Fredette's defensive ability, which has come into question often.
