This UAlbany women's basketball team is really good.  They are now 17-2 overall and 7-0 in the America East conference.  They are also undefeated still at home at the Broadview Center.  It is a gritty group that head coach Colleen Mullen has with her this season led by the likes of Kayla Cooper, Deja Evans, Meghan Huerter, Lily Phillips etc.  They are first in the conference and they defend and rebound at such a high level.  They are extremely fundamentally sound and are a well rounded and disciplined group.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:

UAlbany women's basketball team has a lot of answers offensively this year and with the addition of freshman Deja Evans it pushes the Great Danes over the top with what they can do, but what I like most about head coach Colleen Mullens team is how they defend. UAbany is one of the best defensive teams in the America East Conference and it was the difference in their win last week over Maine. Evans' ability to block shots makes is awful difficult to score in the paint. UAlbany owns a 14-game winning streak and it's largely because of how defend from game to game.

Next up for the Great Danes will be hosting the Vermont Catamounts on Thursday at the Broadview Center.  It is going to be a tough competitive game but you certainly like the Great Danes chances.  It is UAlbany's conference to lose and I expect them to get back in the NCAA Tournament this season.
