"Kerr’s agent, former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum, is still negotiating with the Knicks but the two sides are optimistic that a deal would be in place early this week. The plan is to have Kerr accompany Knicks president Phil Jackson to Chicago for the NBA draft combine that begins Thursday," he reported.

Last week, Kerr announced he would make his decision today. Kerr has been Marv Albert's sideline partner throughout the NBA playoffs.

The option of staying with TNT as a broadcaster, is said to be the last hurdle for the Knicks before entering advanced contract talks.
