Monday was a rough day for the team from Colonie Little League in its quest to advance out of pool play at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Bristol, Conn.

After winning its opening game, Colonie fell on Sunday to Toms River, N.J., and was no-hit on Monday in a 5-0 loss to the representative from West Salisbury, Md.

At 1-2, Colonie will round out pool play tonight at 7 p.m. against Pennsylvania. Follow along here. Colonie needs to finish in the top four of six teams to advance to the elimination round, and they are currently tied with the Maryland team that just beat them.

At the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, N.M., the South Troy Dodgers take the field at noon today (local time) against Frozen Ropes. The double-elimination tournament has the Dodgers at 1-1.

This South Troy team, which features D-1 bound Justin Yurchak (Shen), John Novenche (Shen), and Kevin Smith (Columbia), as well as our last 104.5 ESPN Radio "Athlete of the Week," Nick Chiseri, is coming off a win Sunday against the Detroit Metro Stars.
