Underdog UAlbany hung tough, and even held a 9-8 lead at one point against top-seeded Notre Dame, but the Danes couldn't pull the upset, falling 14-10.

The loss ended the fabulous career of Lyle Thompson, who finishes his Albany career as the NCAAs all-time leading scorer with 400 career points.

Even with UA's loss, Sunday's tournament provided Shen grad Bobby Wardwell (Syracuse) and Niskayuna products Luke Goldstock (North Carolina) and Nikhon Schuler (Johns Hopkins) with a chance to advance.

Syracuse suffered a 16-15 loss to Johns Hopkins, ending Wardwell's career. He had 14 saves in the loss. But Hopkins winning does mean that LSM Nikhon Schuler (Niskayuna) will get to advance.

Goldstock had a goal on nine shots for UNC in their loss to Maryland.

Maryland, Johns Hopkins, and Notre Dame join Denver to round out the Final Four.
