Need Some Powerball Luck? Maybe Head to This Upstate NY Shop
When it comes to games of chance, percentages and odds always play out. That is why most casinos don't go out of business. And the ones that do, have something wrong with their numbers. Take that as you may. So when one upstate New York lottery dealer sells 3 multi-state Powerball winning tickets in less than two months, something is going right. The numbers appear to be playing out well at a New York Lottery dealer in the town of Fishkill, New York.
According to Brian Hubert of dailyfreeman.com, 'Smokes 4 Less' sold a $50,000 ticket for Saturday's drawing of Powerball. Now, a winning ticket like that is amazing in itself. However, 2 other $50,000 tickets have been sold at the same location in the past 60 days. According to Hubert, "the most recent winner, for the Saturday, February 12th drawing, was one of two third-prize tickets sold in New York. The other was sold at the Tulip Card and Gift Store in Floral Park on Long Island in Nassau County."
The winning numbers for Feb.12 Powerball drawing were 8-10-21-41-62. The Powerball number was 7. The other winning tickets at 'Smokes 4 Less,' were sold on Christmas Day, December 25th and New Year's Day, January 1st. Really? This place has to have some lucky charm or something. Both of those prizes were third place winning tickets, as well. Each is worth $50,000 before taxes.
To win the Powerball third prize, a ticket must match four of the five main numbers drawn, plus the Powerball number. The five main numbers in the Powerball game are drawn from a field of 1 to 69. The Powerball number comes from a field of 1 to 26.The odds of winning the Powerball third prize are about 913,000 to 1. The odds of winning the jackpot — which requires matching all six numbers drawn — are about 292 million to 1. Now let's think about the odds of 3 winning third place tickets sold at the same location in less than 60 days. Astronomical would be my guess. Good luck. I honestly doubt a ride to Fishkill will help your chances. However, it may not hurt them either!
