New York State Legalizes Sports Wagering
The day many of us have been waiting for is here. New York State has become the 14th state to legalize Sports Wagering. Today's approval from the New York State Gaming Commission authorizes the four commercial casinos licensed by the Gaming Commission to conduct sports wagering, including Rivers Casino.
The following is from Rivers Casino and Resorts press release:
The following quote is from Rivers Casino & Resort
Schenectady acting General Manager, Justin Moore:
“We’re extremely pleased that sports betting regulations have been finalized and approved by the New York State Gaming Commission and are looking forward to introducing one of the first licensed sportsbooks in the state at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. We anticipate opening the Rivers Sportsbook as soon as we receive approval from the NYSGC. Sports betting will be a tremendous complement to all that Rivers Casino has to offer.”
So once the four casinos are ready we will be able to bet at those four locations. Mobile betting will still need to be agreed upon before that is available to us.
