New York Times Says Upstate Restaurant Among Nation’s 50 Best

A local restaurant from a small Capital Region town has received a big city honor.

You can probably name at least 5 amazing restaurants in the area that you not only love, but that are also worthy of national acclaim for their culinary expertise. But just by the sheer fact that for such an honor local eateries are competing with establishments with big city exposure and notoriety, such honors are few and far between.

This is why it is really cool a small local cafe in a quaint local community is being recognized as one of the 50 best restaurants in the United States.

New York Times Names A Hudson Restaurant One of Nation's Best

Anyone who has spent time in Hudson knows the Columbia County town is a riverside gem known for it's great eateries, arts and culture, and quaint downtown. In the middle of that downtown is an eatery the New York Times calls "refreshingly down home" amidst an upscale small town.

We are talking about Cafe Mutton located at 757 Columbia Street in Hudson. On the surface, the Cafe Mutton menu may seem simple with items like scrapple and eggs or crispy pork belly, but it is anything but. Here's what the New York Times had to say about their offerings:

Cafe Mutton is open Weds, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm and offers dinner service on Friday from 5 to 9 pm.
