Two days ago the Fordham Rams trailed 57-28 at the half against Big East beast Connecticut. Since then the Rams have gotten hot losing only by 15 against UConn and then defeating Siena on Sunday 81-75. A season of hope is quickly falling apart for Siena, now having lost eight in a row and sitting with an ugly 2-10 record.

Fordham's Chris Gaston poured in 25 points, Branden Frazier added 20 as the Rams won for just the third time all season against nine defeats.

The Rams came out smoking led by Gaston who scored 20 in the first half as Fordham roared to 47-31 lead at the break. Gaston has now scored over 1,500 points and sits ninth all time for the Rams.

Siena was playing for the first time since December 9 and the rust showed. If coach Mitch Buonaguro is looking for a silver lining to another loss perhaps the second half is where he will look. His Saints finally shot it exceptionally well, to the tune of 60% and cut that large deficit to only one with 10 minutes left 63-62. However Fordham repelled the Saints hope with three straight buckets and that was enough to ice the game.

Rob Poole led the Saints with 21 points. Rakeem Brookins had a solid ballgame with 18. O.D. Anosike kad 16 points and 6 rebounds.

The 2-10 Saints have one last non conference game left before full time conference play starts January 4. La Salle will visit the Times Union center to play Siena on the 29th of December.
