Things have gone from very bad to extremely ugly and quickly for the Siena Saints. Sunday they were no match for a team that itself had lost five straight. The Rider Broncs welcomed the Saints with open arms and then quickly closed them in a bear hug in a 72-53 beat down on home court.

A close game at half quickly turned into blow out city. Jonathan Thompson and Anthony Miles hit back to back threes leading a Rider surge that put them up 14. After the Saints sliced into that by four, Rider then proceeded with a 13-1 run of their own that ended any hope of a Saints comeback. Down 22, Siena never made a serious run. Four Rider starters scored in double digits in the whitewash.

Siena was led by Rob Poole who tallied a tidy 22, a new career high. That's the only bright spot to be found, really. The normal double-double machine, O.D. Anosike was a single-single on this day with only three points and eight rebounds in 39 minutes.

Rider improves to 7-9 (2-2 MAAC) while Siena is buried in last place at 2-13 (0-4 MAAC).

Siena shot a dreadful 26.8% from the floor. Their misfiring was led by the trio of Rakeem Brookins who hit just two of nine from the floor. That was "topped" by Evan Hymes who was 1-10 from the floor.

As if all this couldn't make a Saints fan upset, the schedule doesn't do any favors as the Saints host 10-5 Canisus on Friday at 7:00 PM.
