Leaf, who has a history of pain killer addiction, is being charged with burglary, theft and two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs from today’s arrest, which occurred while he was out on $76,000 bail for similar charges pending from an arrest on Friday. Reports say that this second arrest stems for an incident that occurred on Saturday, just hours after Leaf was granted bail. Leaf is on probation from a 2010 conviction and is likely looking at extended jail time.

Ryan Leaf was picked behind Peyton Manning in the 1998 draft and is widely considered to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history. In 2010 he underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from his brain, and last year he released a book titled 596 Switch, which was about his 1997 Rose Bowl run with Washington State. Leaf was in Great Falls for a book signing.
