Tim Stauffer had the mojo working on Wednesday afternoon.

The Saratoga native pitched 7 strong innings leading the San Diego Padres to a 4-1 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Stauffer has won consecutive starts for the first time this season.

Stauffer went 7 innings, gave up just 4 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.  The Saratoga Catholic graduate is now 4-5 on the year and his ERA is now 2.97.

After going 1-4 with a 3.99 ERA in his first 12 starts, Stauffer has gone 3-1 with a 1.00 ERA in his last five outings.  In those last 5 starts, Stauffer has gone at least 7 innings and given up just 3 total runs. 

In 16 starts this season, he has pitched at least 5 innings in all but 2 of those games.
