Schenectady High School product Casper Wells has signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers. He will report to spring training in Lakeland, Fla.

Wells was drafted by the Tigers in 2005 before making his major league debut in 2010. Since his original stint with Detroit, he's seen big league time with the Mariners, A's, White Sox, and Phillies. He also spent time in the Cubs system.

He has 25 career home runs, fifth-most by a Capital Region product at the major league level.
