The Amar'e Stoudemire era in New York is over. The two sides agreed to a contract buyout on Sunday night. Stoudemire will hit the waiver wire, and then become a free agent.

Several Western Conference teams are expected to pursue Stoudemire, including the Dallas Mavericks.

Amar'e has spent parts of five seasons in New York. He averaged 25.3 points and 8.2 rebounds/game in his first season with the Knicks.

Since then, Stoudemire has not played more than 65 games in a season. Injuries have caused him to become the player we now remember as a former Knick.
