"New York's College Team" has a hired a new athletic director. 104.5 The Team is "Your Home For New York Sports" and today "New York's College Team" has hired a new athletic director. Syracuse University officially introduced Mark Coyle during a press conference this afternoon as the school's new AD.  Coyle had previously served as the athletic director at Boise State since December 2011. Coyle also spent seven years at Kentucky in various roles and was associate athletic director of external relations at Minnesota. He will succeed interim athletic director Pete Sala on July 6. Sala had served as the interim since March when then athletic director Dr. Daryl Gross resigned after the NCAA finished an eight year investigation into the school's football and basketball programs. The investigation resulted in both programs being placed on probation along with scholarships being reduced. Dr. Gross had served as the athletic director since December 2004. Coyle's introductory press conference covered a wide variety of topics including his future goals of the athletic program, the job status of Hall Fame Coach Jim Boeheim, and the rumored return of legendary number #44 to the football program.
