Remember this classic attraction at the Great Escape? Jungle Land opened in 1960 and was shut down in the mid 2000's, but thankfully, its nostalgia lives on YouTube!
Growing up in the Capital Region in the 1980s, it was fun to travel up the Northway and spend the day at The Great Escape Amusement Park (formerly Storytown). We couldn't wait to get there and travel through Ghost Town and become a deputy with Marshal Wild Windy Bill McKay. But one of the highlights of the day was the death-defying high dive act.
It looks as if we are going to finally have a summer like we are used to in the Capital Region. With that comes a lot of opportunities. There are two iconic places in the Capital Region that are hiring a ton of positions for the summer of 2022.
These are some of the earliest pictures of Storytown USA in Lake George. They're over 70-years-old, and date all the way back to 1954, the year it opened!
I am getting a severe case of cabin fever and I know I'm not alone. But we got some good news about amusement parks and summer camps reopening soon in New York state. Finally, we heard from Governor Cuomo who is slowly allowing more things to open.
