The New York Yankees have swept the Minnesota Twins and punched their tickets to the American League Championship Series. The Twins smashed the single season Team Home Run record this year and won 101 games this season. None of that was enough to stop the Yankees.

After a very difficult week against the Mets and Red Sox that garnered only 1 win out of 7 games, the Yankees entered this week determined to bounce back, and they did exactly that with a 3-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians to wrap up their 8-game home-stand. Led by a complete game performance from CC Sabathia, the Yankees took the final game 6-4 earlier this afternoon and now head to the West C

Yankee fans, for years I have been counted as one of your ranks.  A fan since birth, I’ve been there through the good times and the comparatively dark – though really not dark at all – mid 2000’s.  I would be remiss if I did not use this electronic podium to deliver a message.  That message is simple.  Chill the heck out.

The Red Sox finished off a three-game sweep against the Yankees with a 7-5 win against New York on Sunday night.  Two very interesting things happened in this series, including something that should never happen.
