The Red Sox finished off a three-game sweep against the Yankees with a 7-5 win against New York on Sunday night.  Two very interesting things happened in this series, including something that should never happen. The Boston Red Sox completed a three-game sweep in New York against the Yankees for the first time since 2004.  The Red Sox are back to .500 (20-20) after beginning the season 2-10.  Boston now only trails Tampa Bay by three games in the AL East.  The Yankees fall to 20-18 and now trail Tampa Bay by two games.

The main storyline of this entire series centered around Jorge Posada.  After being dropped to 9th in the batting order on Saturday, Posada told manager Joe Girardi to remove him from the lineup entirely.  You don't respond to getting dropped in the batting order by throwing a hissy fit.  You go out and rake.

Posada is only batting .165 this season.  He is 0-for-24 against lefties this season which is the reason why he wasn't the DH on Sunday night with Jon Lester pitching for Boston.  When Posada entered the game in the 8th inning to pinch hit, he got a standing ovation.  Uhh, why?

Why would Yankee fans applaud a guy who just pulled a selfish, punk move just one day prior?  That should never happen.  A completely selfish move was applauded, loudly and uninhibited.  Bad move, Yankee fans.
