The UAlbany Women Still Had An Awesome Season Despite Their Loss
It was a tough and brutal loss for the UAlbany women on Friday night at the Broadview Center. They were unbeaten at home up until losing to Vermont on Friday night in front of a packed house. They just simply did not shoot the ball well at all. Kayla Cooper was effective but she didn't have her typical help from her teammates. You have to tip your cap and credit Vermont for their execution in the difficult win on the road. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
UAlbany women's basketball team had it all lined up to win the America East Championship on Friday but unfortunately picked the wrong day to not play their best game. Give Vermont all the credit because they came up with a huge road performance to earn a trip to the NCAA tournament and the Great Danes head to the Women's invitational tournament. It's still a great season for UAlbany who had a veteran team that went 26-6 and didn't lose a game at Broadview Center all season until the America East Championship game. Head Coach Colleen Mullen who's done a phenomenal job in seven seasons will hit the portal for next season bur the meantime let's see how far her team can advance in the WIT.
