This is the final season for this ESPN generated "BracketBusters" weekend. Judging by what it means, I think that's a good idea.

What started out as an idea to allow "mid majors" to show their stuff has frankly become a waste of time, in my opinion. Take UAlbany's bracket buster win at Fairfield Saturday 58-50. A nice win make no mistake. For the Great Danes it marked their 20th win of the year, a nice mark, a historic mark frankly for this school. It was just the 3rd time as a member of division 1 and 1st since the 2006-2007 campaign. But what bracket did it exactly bust? Will a win over a decent Stags team really bust a bracket in the minds of the tournament committee? of course not. So what's the point really?

2 Aussies led the Danes to this victory. Both Jon Puk and Sam Rowley notched 13 points apiece to lead the way. UAlbany has won 4 of 6 and are closing with momentum in preparation for the conference tournament. Now that will serve as the ultimate bracket buster.

UAlbany trailed early 16-15 but a pair of 7-0 runs gave them the half time lead 27-24. They never trailed in the 2nd half.

The Great Danes are now tied with Hartford for 4th place in the America East. They have just 2 games left to be played in the regular season. The 1st is against New Hampshire Wednesday night. They close out the campaign at Stony Brook on March 3rd. The Danes are a very solid 10-4 on the road this year.
