Will Brown's Great Danes Returned to the hardwood Friday after a 9 day layoff for class and tests. They failed their on court test losing to then 3-6 Quinnipiac 59-57 on home wood.

Cold spells and flatness doomed the Danes. They trailed for the entire 1st half save for 10 seconds. But worse was the cold spell the last 3.43 of the ball game. leading 57-52 with that time left in the game, the Danes didn't score again.

Ike Azotam led Quinnipiac with 17 points including the game winning hoop with 14 seconds left. After the basket UAlbany called time to set up a play. Perhaps somewhat surprising they went for the win on home court with a Mike Black 3. He missed and game over. Black finished 2nd in scoring with 14 points.

Mike Iati who had been on a tear scored just 5 points for the Great Danes. Center Blake Metcalf didn't hit a shot from the floor. Black shot just 4 of 14. The Bobcats out rebounded the Danes 34-24.

The loss stopped UAlbany's 6 game winning streak. They return to play Friday against Navy on the road. Conference play will begin January 2nd. UAlbany remains atop the standings in the America East by half a game over 2nd place Stony Brook.
