UAlbany women's basketball star Shereesha Richards scored her 2,000th career point on Saturday as the Great Danes beat the University of Vermont at SEFCU Arena.

Richards is the two-time defending America East Player of the Year and has helped the Danes get to three straight NCAA tournaments.

She's averaging 24.0 ppg this year and has the Danes out to a 12-3 overall record. UAlbany hosts Maine in a huge conference game this Saturday (12 pm at SEFCU Arena). The Black Bears are the biggest threat to UAlbany in the America East.

Richards joined us today to talk about her 2,000th point, the big matchup this weekend, how her game has evolved, what it's like to be a role model to young girls basketball players and young fans, and about her post-UAlbany plans.

There has been plenty of speculation about Richards' WNBA goals and prospects. We asked her about that.
