UAlbany Wins Home Opener

The UAlbany Great Danes men's basketball team ushered in the home portion of its 2014-15 schedule with a 65-48 win over NJIT on Wednesday night at SEFCU Arena.

Wheeler Baker led a trio of Danes (1-1) in double figures with 15 points. Sam Rowley had 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds while Peter Hooley contributed 10 points and six boards.

Freshman Greig Stire of Christian Brothers Academy played valuable minutes, tallying three points and four rebounds.

In attendance was Great Dane commit and Scotia-Glenville star Joe Cremo.
