There will be not be an in-between when it comes to judging the success of Brodie Van Wagenen, the new General Manager of the Mets.  He will either be a great hire or a bust. It’s a gamble by the Mets hiring a former agent and it’s clearly a conflict of interest in many ways, but it could work.

If Wagenen  advises the Mets to sign pitching ace Jacob deGrom to a long term contract, he will make a great first impression. The Mets want to be contenders in 2019, and the pressure is on a GM with no experience, to make that happen.
