Vanderbilt Wins NCAA Baseball Title

Vanderbilt captured the NCAA baseball championship Wednesday after beating Virginia, 3-2, in Game 3 of the championship series.

Vandy took Game 1 before the Cavaliers rallied to take Game 2 of the best-of-three set.

Shenendehowa graduate Branden Cogswell went 0-5, but still finished the CWS at 9-23.

Cogswell was selected in the seventh round of the MLB draft by the Oakland A's and is now free to negotiate a deal. The junior can return to Virginia for his senior season if he wants.
