Former UAlbany quarterback Reese Poffenbarger transferred to Miami earlier this week and I couldn't be happier for him.  While some people might be surprised by this move, I am not in the slightest.  After covering him and calling all of his games the past two seasons, I know how talented of a player that he is.  He is a gunslinger and has lethal accuracy down the field.  He also is dangerous with his legs and lit up the CAA Conference and led UAlbany to their greatest season in program history making it all the way to the FCS semifinals.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:
Former UAlbany quarterback Reese Poffenbarger landing at the University at Miami tells you all you need to know about the caliber of the athlete in the CAA conference. There are many players in the CAA that could play at the next level and with the NIL you can also get paid to play. Former UAlbany defensive end Anton Juncaj went from the transfer portal to Arkansas and his teammate defensive lineman Elijah Hills signed with Wisconsin. Give head coach Greg Gattuso credit for being able to recruit players to UAlbany who can get to the bigger stage, but it comes at a cost. Gattuso needs to replace Poffenbarger at quarterback but because the Great Danes had the best season in school history the recruiting process becomes a little easier.

I wish him nothing but the best of luck and hope he starts and has success at Miami.  He is a tremendous competitor and a great person off of the field as well.
