Will The UAlbany Football Team Beat Maine On Saturday?
This is a big game on Saturday afternoon for the UAlbany football team. They take on and host the Maine Black Bears in the first CAA conference game of the season for the Great Danes. UAlbany had a rough non conference stretch but that doesn't matter now because head coach Greg Gattuso likes what he has seen from his group and believes they have found their true identity. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
The UAlbany football team needs to get a win over Maine Saturday to start the CAA conference schedule on the right foot. The Great Danes back-to-back road loses at West Virginia and Idaho will only help them against the Black Bears because they should be able to run the ball with more success which will open the pass game for Sophomore quarterback Myles Burkett who has a prime target in Seven McGee. The UAlbany defense will also be much improved after three weeks of trying to figure it out, but the secondary will be tested. Maine will take deep shots with its passing game, and they have veteran players on offense who can make plays. UA will play well in front of a big Hometown Hero's Crowd and begin defense of its CAA Championship with a win.

I like UAlbany to get a win in a very close game at home. Maine is a good football team but I think UAlbany will prevail. I also expect a big crowd for the Hometown Heroes Game.
