Will UAlbany Upset Vermont On Tuesday Night On The Road?
UAlbany men's basketball had a great weekend and for the first time this season they swept a Thursday Saturday slate in the America East Conference. They got two huge road wins at UMBC and NJIT and now currently sit in fourth place which would mean hosting a quarterfinal game at the Broadview Center for the first time since 2018. This is by far and away the best team that Dwayne Killings has had at UAlbany yet now in year four. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
UAlbany men’s basketball team can make a statement with a win on Tuesday at Vermont. A win gets them a home playoff game for the first time since 2018, but more importantly a win over the defending championship Catamounts would give the Great Danes further proof that they can win the America East Championship. UAlbany is coming off back-to-back road wins and believing they can make a big run in the playoffs and beating Vermont to end the regular season set them up perfectly.

Now UAlbany heads to Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington Vermont to try and take down their bitter rival the Catamounts. Head coach John Becker has owned UAlbany and Dwayne Killings throughout the years but DK has already predicted a win tomorrow all the way back from a month ago when Vermont beat UAlbany at home. I think UAlbany has a real shot to win and make a deep run. As everybody knows, anything can happen in the month of March with college basketball.
