Yasiel Puig is, by all accounts, the most fascinating thing in baseball right now. He is the biggest, strongest, fastest guy on the field all at once and is the kind of athlete that rarely chooses to play baseball anymore in this day and age. Today, he added to his legend by smashing a walk-off home run in the 11th inning of a scoreless game between his Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds.

Puig absolutely crushed that ball, eliciting a really quiet and subdued reaction from Dodgers play-by-play guy Vin Scully, who is criminally overrated, but that's besides the point.

On the season, Puig is batting .372 and the walk-off home run was his tenth of the year. To a casual baseball fan such as myself, he is one of the few guys in the major leagues that makes the sport exciting at the moment, with moments like these illustrating that fact to perfection.

The win puts the Dodgers 2.5 games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks for first place in the National League West.
