How Should Yankees Fans Summarize Their 2024 Season?

The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions and beat the New York Yankees in five games.  The Yankees absolutely choked it away in the top of the fifth inning with a total meltdown with three massive fielding errors.  They had a five to nothing lead and were doing everything in their power to send the series back to LA for a Game Six.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

The Los Angeles Dodgers were the more complete team and that's why they beat the New York Yankees to win the World Serie in five games. You can't allow six outs in the fifth inning and win, and you can't strand 12 base runners and beat a great team like the Dodgers. Gerrit Cole pitched a great game but not covering first base when he had a chance to get out of the inning without allowing a run is inexcusable. It's always a win or bust World Series and the Yankees didn't win the World Series, so the season is considered a bust and it's now 15 years and counting without a Work Series Title. Onto next season for a Yankee team that will look entirely different, and likely without Juan Soto who will follow the money to his next stop.

Now it is onto the offseason for the Yankees and the million dollar question is where will Juan Soto end up.  The Yankees will be back and good again in 2025 and they will win a World Series here soon.
