Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish came within a whisker of executing the 24th perfect game in Major League Baseball history. His reaction is priceless.

Yu Darvish retired the first 26 hitters he faced on Tuesday night as the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 7-0.  It was the 27th hitter that got the best of Yu and prevented the 24th perfect game in MLB history from occurring.  Oh, so close.

Houston Astros shortstop Marwin Gonzalez (who?) took a first-pitch fastball and drove it right up the middle.  It was the only hit that Darvish surrendered as he struck out 14 batters in 8.2 IP.  Yu’s reaction was fantastic.  It was as he was saying, “Are you freakin kidding me?  Marwin Gonzalez?  Really?”  Sometimes, you just have to laugh things off.
