Jimmer Fredette is being signed by the New York Knicks!

The Glens Falls native is headed to Madison Square Garden after a stint in the D-League that saw him average 22 points a game for the Westchester Knicks and earn MVP of the D-League All-Star Game.

He scored 35 points in that game and also took second in the 3-point shootout.

Fredette is shooting 49 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range this season to go along with 91 percent at the foul line.

Josh Rultenberg of News 10 ABC caught up with Fredette just hours before the news came out. Jimmer told him that he thinks he can fit and succeed in the triangle offense with Phil Jackson is committed to running in New York.

Hopefully Fredette gets the opportunity to contribute in the NBA in a way that he has never really been given. He has never played steady minutes in the association.
