The NBA All-Star game was everything expected and more with the Eastern Conference snapping a three game losing streak to the West with a final score of 163-155.

A game that saw Carmelo Anthony break the All-Star record with eight 3-pointers. Then Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin falling four points shy of the total points record with 38 points each, and of course LeBron James filled up the stat sheet with 22 points, seven rebounds and seven dimes.

But it wasn't the four time MVP, or any of the past scoring Champions that came away with the All-Star MVP.

No, it was the 21yr old  Duke product representing the Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving. Irving was magical tonight finishing the game with 31 points and 14 assists and was a catalyst for the East in the final stretch of the game that ultimately won the game for the Eastern Conference.

Irving's showcase tonight should have people excited for the future as players such as himself Trailblazers Damian Lillard and Washington Wizards John Wall brought life back to an All-Star weekend that has lacked excitement for the past few years now.
