Ray Allen is a new member of the Miami Heat.  Is the former Boston Celtics' guard a traitor?

No, Ray Allen is not a traitor.  I can understand Celtic fans being disappointed that Allen is no longer a member of the C's.  Plus, on top of not playing in Boston anymore, he went and joined the same team that beat the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals last month.  The phrase, "Miami Heat shooting guard Ray Allen," doesn't exactly roll off the tongue if you root for the Celtics.

Ray Allen simply made a business move.  The Miami Heat are closer to winning a championship next season than the Celtics are.  If Ray Allen is able to win another ring, it's not going to look like a foolish move whatsoever to join the Miami Heat.  Look at what happened with LeBron James.  All of the negativity that he faced was basically erased when he won a championship.  The same would happen with Ray Allen.  He just has to win a title now.  If he doesn't, this move will be a failure for his legacy.
