Head Coach Colleen Mullen and her UAlbany women's basketball team are still a very dangerous team despite their loss at Main over the weekend.  They are an experienced group that have several key players who can each go off on any given night.  They only lost at Maine by one and Kayla Cooper led with 23 points.  These two teams are most likely on a collision course in the America East championship just like last year.  Only this time, it will be at UAlbany instead.  Below is my quick take on this from the Times Union:

The UAlbany Women’s basketball team is still the team to beat in the America East Conference, despite Saturdays one point loss at second place Maine. The Great Danes were undefeated in the conference, but sometimes a loss can do more good then harm. UAlbany was 0-14 from three point range and still had chances to win. Head Coach Colleen Mullen’s team still controls it’s own destiny and that includes hosting the championship game at HVCC. The first conference loss of the season was only a minor setback for a veteran team that knows path for another trip to the NCAA Tournament.

MJ and I were joined by Coach Colleen Mullen on Monday morning right here on Big Board Sports.  Coach agrees that it wasn't her teams best performance but they are still a strong group and the team to beat in the AE conference even after suffering their first conference loss at Maine.  Below is our full interview with her.

Next up for the Great Danes is at home vs Umass Lowell who is a team they have already beaten.  UAlbany is still the team to beat in the AE conference in my opinion.
