Former Major League Baseball manager Bobby Valentine is featured in a very funny fantasy baseball commercial.

This commercial with Bobby Valentine is absolutely hilarious.  The ad promotes CBS Sports Fantasy Baseball.  The funniest part comes at the :07 mark when Bobby V is wearing his famous costume.  Valentine was thrown out of a game in June of 1999 when he managed the New York Mets.

Valentine argued a catcher’s interference call on Mike Piazza and was thrown out of the ballgame in the 12th inning.  The Mets eventually won the game against Toronto, 4-3 in 14 innings (video below).  With Valentine wearing the costume in the fantasy baseball commercial, the fictitious manager says, “Tell Bobby he’s fired.”  That’s hilarious!

The Boston skit in this commercial with Bobby saying, “I know, I’m fired,” is funny.  The ending cracks me up when Bobby looks at his phone and says, “I’m not getting that.”  This ad is a great idea that was executed very well.  Great stuff!  I’m strangely more excited for the baseball season now.  If you are too, check out a spring training sneak peak this Saturday when the New York Yankees host the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:05pm ET on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio.
