The Boston Bruins swept their way into the Stanley Cup Finals by beating up on the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals last week. They finished off the series with a 4-0 win that matched the 4-0 sweep. Most importantly, the long state-wide nightmare is finally over for Massachusetts.

The last time one of their teams went to the championship in any of the major sports was all the way back on February 3, 2019 when the Patriots won the Super Bowl against the Rams. Before that, you need to go look back to October 2018, when the Red Sox won the World Series.

The entire state can finally breathe a sigh of relief as this more-than-100-day dry spell is finally over. We all know how tough it can be as a sports fan when your teams just can't break through, so today we stand in solidarity with all New Englanders as they have finally made their way back to the finals in one of our major sports.

The last time their teams played in a final or championship game for each of the major sports:

Boston Bruins: Before this year, 2013.

Boston Celtics: 2010

New England Patriots: 2019

Boston Red Sox: 2018

I think we can all agree that's just brutal for Boston sports fans everywhere.

Now, all we have to do is wait and see if San Jose or St. Louis will win in the west so this series can finally get underway.
