It has been a great start to this 2024 Major League Baseball season for the New York Yankees but it's still early.  Aaron Judge is back and I don't know what it is about the month of May but he just turns it on during that month, it must be the warmer weather.  The starting rotation has been rock solid without Gerrit Cole and all five guys have produced and had quality starts.  The offense had also been very good top to bottom led by Juan Soto.  It further proves how the Yankees have to sign him to a big extension.  You can't let a generational talent just walk without making an effort to sign him.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

The New Yankees have won 10 of their last 12 games and Aaron Judge is starting to heat up as you knew he would. But my biggest takeaway has been the starting pitching which outside of Nestor Cortes has been outstanding and ace Gerrit Cole is still sidelined. Baltimore is still the best team in the American League East, but the Yankees have narrowed the gap. It sets up for a fun summer watching the Orioles and Yankees battle it out for the division title.

They have beaten some pretty good teams too and just have to keep winning series.  I do still believe however that they will be competing head to head with the Baltimore Orioles for the American League East division title.  The Orioles are good and young but the Yankees will make the playoffs of course.
