It is just so awful and sad to hear about the passing of long time CBA baseball coach Casey O'Connor.  He was a great coach and an even better man.  A tremendous father and family man and touched and impacted so many lives not just with CBA but all across the Capital Region.  I will miss our conversations and his great and friendly personality.  Thoughts and prayers with his family and those that were close to him and knew him well.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

CBA Head Baseball Coach Casey O’Connor was not only a great coach but a great man who cared deeply about his family and the players he coached until his life was cut way too short after a battle with cancer. I watched coach O'Connor grind through this season to the bitter end and his determination to coach his team was a tribute to the tremendous he person he was. I enjoyed the many interviews he did with me over the years for both radio and TV and appreciated his candid response to all my questions. His presence will certainly be missed both on and off the field. RIP coach O'Connor.

He had a courageous fight and battle with cancer and it was inspirational watching him coach to the very end despite suffering from the brutal disease.  We all know someone or have been impacted from cancer.  Rest in peace Casey O Connor as you truly will be missed forever.
