The University of Albany Men's Lacrosse program was heading towards another highly rated and hopefully highly successful season when the COVID-19 pandemic put all of those plans and hopes on hold. To make matters worse for lacrosse fans here in the Capital Region UAlbany was looking forward to hosting the Premiere Lacrosse League during its 2020 season only to have it too postponed thanks to the coronavirus. So it's great to finally get some good news to share with all of you, UAlbany has selected to host the Quarterfinals of the 2023 NCAA Men's Lacrosse tournament. Levack and Goz were joined by UAlbany Men's Lacrosse coach Scott Marr to catch up on where the Great Danes lacrosse program is right now and what being awarded the NCAA Quarterfinals will mean to his team and the school.

UAlbany's Athletic Director and Marr were both quoted earlier this week in a press release from the school:

"We couldn't be more thrilled in receiving this news from the NCAA," said Director of Athletics Mark Benson. "We feel like UAlbany and the greater Capital Region have the best lacrosse fans in the nation, so it only seems fitting that the NCAA Quarterfinals should come through Casey Stadium."

"This is a truly amazing day for UAlbany, our program and lacrosse fans across the Capital Region," said Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Scott Marr. "There's no doubt that Albany has become a national fixture within the lacrosse community. This area loves lacrosse, and we're really excited for this opportunity."
