Columbia High School graduate Kevin Smith is helping lead the Maryland baseball team again this season. After starting 65 of 66 games for the Terps a season ago, Smith has started all 25 contests for Maryland this season (13-12).

The Terps made a deep run a season ago in the national playoffs and are looking to make a similar run this year.

Smith joined us today to talk about his role early on in his college career, his success, adjustments he's made for this season and more.

He also told us what the expectations are for a Division I baseball player at Maryland: He gave us a typical daily schedule and took us inside the program. Then, Smith told us if he uses the local professional baseball players from the Capital Region as role models and inspirations.
