Columbia High Grad Kevin Smith Ready for Pro Ball
Kevin Smith has had about 24 hours to digest the fact that he's now a professional baseball player. It will all become officially official on Friday when he flies to Florida to sign his contract with the Blue Jays organization, but with Toronto's 4th round selection of the former Columbia High School star on Tuesday, it's as official as it needs to be right now. Smith will forego his senior season at Maryland and the shortstop says he's ready to make an impact at whichever level of minor-league ball the Blue Jays choose for him.
