After a weekend split with the Toronto Blue Jays, the New York Yankees still seem like they are spinning their wheels.  There were a few bright spots however to takeaway.  For one, both DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres looked good for the first time in a while.  Gleyber had three straight multi hit games after being benched and DJ had a multi RBI game.  The other big one is that Gerrit Cole looked good for the first time this year.  His velocity was back which is huge and his accuracy too.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

The New York Yankees at least spit their four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays and for the moment sets them back on the right path. Aaron Judge continues his mobster season and Gerrit Cole pitched his best game of the season. The entire lineup hit on Sunday which is a good sign and Juan Soto avoided an injury to his hand and was back in the lineup too. The problem is Baltimore is a between team then the Yankees and none of these games' really matters until the playoffs begin.

The all star break is in two weeks so the Yankees have some work to do here to improve and the Major League Baseball trade deadline is in a few weeks.  The Yanks will be fine and will be battling the Baltimore Orioles all summer long.  They will be a playoff team the question becomes how far they will go in October.
