With the warm weather finally upon us, it finally feels like baseball season.

And that nostalgic baseball feel at that. The smell and look of the fresh cut grass, the sun on your face, the crack of the bat.

And with that – it’s time for some of you (like me) to start planning your yearly pilgrimage to nearby Cooperstown. The Hall of Fame itself, the downtown shops, the side street atmosphere --  it’s all baseball heaven.

But if you don’t want to fight the traffic of Hall of Fame weekend (July 27), or any other summer week that brings in hundreds or thousands of youth players, you can head up soon and have an unbelievable time.

Saturday, May 24, the Hall of Fame is putting on the "Hall of Fame Classic,” which is a game that will feature many former and prominent major leaguers.

Hall of Famers Roberto Alomar, Andre Dawson, Rollie Fingers, Eddie Murray, Phil Niekro and Ozzie Smith will be there as managers and coaches for the game that includes former Mets Edgardo Alfonzo and Pedro Martinez and ex-Yankee, Hideki Matsui.

Other big names scheduled to play include Ivan Rodriguez, Jim Thome, Vinny Castilla, David Eckstein, and more.

Tickets are $11 for general admission and $12.50 for first and third base seats. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05.
