Didi Gregorius Returns To Yankees’ Lineup Tonight
The New York Yankees have had more than their share of injuries this season but maybe...just maybe they're finally starting to get over the Injury Bug. Last night the Yankees optioned INF Thairo Estrada to Triple A Scranton making room for SS Didi Gregorius to return and presumable start for the first time this season.
Didi returning is big news for the Yankees who are a game and a half up in the AL East even without many of their stars this season. Didi is someone that the rest of the team relies on to keep the morale up and of yeah...he's pretty good too. Many are concerned where Didi will play and what this means for guys like INF DJ LeMahieu. Tonight I doubt it will have any effect on LeMahieu because Gleyber Torres is nursing a sore shoulder. I expect when tonight's lineup against the Cleveland Indians is announced Didi will be at SS and LeMahieu will be at 2nd. Long term manager Aaron Boone will have some juggling to do but that's a far better problem than 14 players on the IL.
