There has been A LOT of criticism over the New York Giants' first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. With the 6th overall pick Giant's GM Dave Gettleman took Duke QB Daniel Jones. ESPN host Max Kellerman has been VERY critical of the pick, even going as far as to call Jones a "Day two guy."

I think it's fairly clear calling someone a "Day two guy" isn't a compliment and who knows maybe Kellerman is right BUT don't pretend you're not taking shots at the player. Kellerman the next day attempted to walk back his evaluation of Jones a little. When asked on "First Take" if he felt bad for Daniel Jones, Kellerman attempted to make his harsh criticism all about Giants' GM Dave Gettleman.

Here's the thing, you can't have it both ways. If you really believe Jones is not the QB for the Giants or a Day two guy, stick with it. Don't try and pretend your words aren't a shot at Jones just as much as they are at Gettleman. Kellerman acknowledges that Jones might receive "Collateral damage" but I say he took a fully aimed shot. If you say Gettleman is terrible or any other pretty version of calling him stupid it's because he believed Jones is good enough to take at six. That's an equal shot at Jones and if you're man enough to take the shot be man enough to stand by it.
