Every year, Forbes releases their list of the 400 wealthiest people who live in the United States. That means that, every year, I click the link to view the list, and am always disappointed to learn that I have not made the list of the 400 wealthiest people in the country.

Maybe next year, I always say.

That all being said, the list did include a few New York residents, including this one person, who was officially named the wealthiest resident of the Empire State.

A story from ABC News10 in Albany shared information from 2023's Forbes 400 List, which listed out the 400 wealthiest people in America. To make the list, billionaires needed at least $2.9 billion, according to News10.

When you sort the list by state, you can also learn which people are the richest residents of every state. For New York, that person is Michael Bloomberg, majority owner, co-founder and CEO of Bloomberg L.P., and former three-term mayor of New York City.
