The New York Giants endured the first weekend of training camp after avoiding a big time scare as Odell Beckham Jr. took a cleat to the leg from newly-arrived defensive back Janoris Jenkins.

To talk about all things Big Blue we brought in longtime Giants beat writer Art Stapleton. We asked him about Beckham's injury, Victor Cruz's progress, the development of rookie Sterling Shepard, who has the inside track at the middle linebacker position, and about how Ben McAdoo has run camp thus far.

The Giants are coming off back-to-back six win seasons but have a real chance to win the NFC East this year after revamping the league's worst-ranked defense this offseason. Furthermore, the Giants have the benefit of playing in an iffy division. The Eagles had the No. 2 in the draft, the Redskins have issues at quarterback and on defense while the Cowboys can't overcome another injury to Tony Romo.
