Goz's College Football Top 25 Rankings (Week 6)

For the third consecutive season,I will be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college football season. My poll philosophy all season long will remain the same and that is by ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty-five best in the country following that given week’s games. Why Ohio State over Clemson? The Buckeyes DESERVE to be the #2 team in the country. Coach Urban Meyer's team traveled to Happy Valley and defeated Penn State in come from behind fashion. The Buckeyes have earned their second ranking and are now the favorites to clinch a spot in the clinch a playoff spot in the Big Ten.

Why barely any movement for Penn State? Stanford too far of a drop? I'll answer the Penn State question with a question? Why should they drop any further than 9? The Nittany Lions have a lead in the fourth quarter and have a chance to win before some questionable at best playing calling. Penn State could still have Rose Bowl in their future. As for Stanford, the Cardinal should have lost to Oregon the previous week. Notre Dame dominated that game for much of the second half. Where is the love for Jerry Tillery for being one of the best flat out players in the country? Stanford needed to take that dive.

What the hell happened to Oklahoma State? It's a strange method doing the poll each week in that I try to reset each week and re-rank each week. I made a mistake last week having OK State so high! Everyone else moved but the Cowboys' loss to Texas Tech for whatever reason didn't have me move them that far down in the poll. That mistake was changed this week.

Virginia Tech over Syracuse? I know it comes off as a bit of a suprise followed the poll last week Syracuse was Team #26. Florida and Colorado looked good so they deserved to jump in. I believe Virginia Tech could beat Syracuse in a game right now (The Duke win is the best between the two schools). For other Top 25 teams lost that fell from the previous week. The Orange were one play away from being a Top 15 team. The Hokies, Orange and NC State Wolfpack were team 25 and 26 and 27 for me. I was a huge fan of Virginia Tech before the season. That's the difference between a Top 25 ranking for the Orange for me.
